Definitions

  • Local currency at constant prices > Aggregate indicators > GDP per capita > Constant LCU: GDP per capita is gross domestic product divided by midyear population. GDP at purchaser's prices is the sum of gross value added by all resident producers in the economy plus any product taxes and minus any subsidies not included in the value of the products. It is calculated without making deductions for depreciation of fabricated assets or for depletion and degradation of natural resources. Data are in constant local currency.
  • Local currency at constant prices > Other items > Terms of trade adjustment > Constant LCU: The terms of trade effect equals capacity to import less exports of goods and services in constant prices. Data are in constant local currency.
  • Local currency at current prices > Aggregate indicators > Net taxes on products > Current : Net taxes on products (net indirect taxes) are the sum of product taxes less subsidies. Product taxes are those taxes payable by producers that relate to the production, sale, purchase or use of the goods and services. Subsidies are grants on the current account made by general government to private enterprises and unincorporated public enterprises. The grants may take the form of payments to ensure a guaranteed price or to enable maintenance of prices of goods and services below costs of production, and other forms of assistance to producers. Inventories are stocks of goods held by firms to meet temporary or unexpected fluctuations in production or sales, and ""work in progress."" According to the 1993 SNA, net acquisitions of valuables are also considered capital formation."
